Uganda’s former industrial giant town of Jinja is set for a revival after signing an agreement of mutual interests with Wuhan Municipality in China.

Witnessed by Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, His Worship Wan Yong and Jinja’s Majid Batambuze signed a cooperation agreement putting in place a relationship expected to benefit both Municipalities.

The pact will see the two build a city-to-city friendship and promote exchange and cooperation in an all round way in fields of trade, investment, tourism, education, culture, sports among others.

The two municipalities will also provide a platform for personal and technological exchange to ensure unblocked communication.

Wuhan City

Wuhan, the sprawling capital of Central China’s Hubei province, is a commercial center divided by the Yangtze and Han rivers. The city contains many lakes and parks, including expansive, picturesque East Lake. Nearby, the Hubei Provincial Museum displays relics from the Warring States period, including the Marquis Yi of Zeng’s coffin and bronze musical bells from his 5th-century B.C. tomb.
