The 7th annual CBA Uganda Vintage and Classic Auto Show which is schedules to take place on 28th July 2018 at the Sheraton Gardens, will be an experience similar to none before. This is because of the number of additions to the show and meticulous planning that is being undertaken. This was revealed by the Uganda Vintage and classic Auto Show proprietor Dr. John Baptist Niwagaba during the launch of the event at the Commercial Bank of Africa Uganda Limited (CBAU) Head Office at Twed Towers, Nakasero.
The highlight of the show will be a change from a static show where cars are judged in one place to a mobile show where cars will move to the judging arena thus offering a lively experience to both car owners and spectators. The other new addition to the show is the collectibles category. These shall include any old items that anybody would like to exhibit, besides cars and bikes.
“For a while now we have been approached by show enthusiasts to accommodate this category and this year, that call has been answered. We expect a lot of household items from decades past and so much more. Whoever would like to be a part of this should reach us through the various channels we have availed,” said Dr. Niwagaba.
He further revealed that, the show themed “Beauty and the Beast”, will have a bigger and better fashion show under the same subject and it will also be the dress-code on the day.
“This year is going to be a different experience. And special thanks go to our sponsors that indeed make this show possible every year enabling us better the experience of our guests. To CBA Bank, Sheraton Kampala Hotel, Castrol Oil, and Events Warehouse, we are grateful.”
The CBA Bank MD Anthony Ndegwa, acknowledged the tremendous work done by the Uganda Vintage team, pledging to support the event for the foreseeable future.
“As CBA we thank the entire Vintage Uganda team that has kept growing the value of this property, now in its 7th year. And we have been proudly part of this journey for the best part of its lifetime. As a bank our drive is always to ensure our customers have more time for their passions. This makes the vintage and classic cars a natural fit for us because it is a huge passion that requires a lot of time,” noted Mr. Ndegwa.
Other sponsors of the CBA Uganda vintage and classic auto show include Sheraton Kampala Hotel, Castrol Oil, NBS TV and Events Warehouse. The event is endorsed by the Automobile Association of Uganda and Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda.
