Richard Semitego British of Ugandan origin who is also a member of Conservative party in UK has raised concerns over the bad condition of his nephew Sengooba K Robert.
In Semitego’s letter to his fellow conservative party members, he asked David Cameron [ British Premier] Boris Johnson [ mayor of London] & UK’s Foreign Affairs’ Office to help him save his nephew [Sengooba] who was arrested because of his political posts on Facebook attacking the Ugandan President.
Mr. Semitego says he lived with former envoy late Bakayana Kityo’s family in Old Kampala for 14 years before moving to United Kingdom after the murder of the envoy and that he witnessed many difficulties that Museveni critics go through and the political differences between the President and late Bakayana’s family who were once good friends.
“My criticism to dictator Museveni gave Ugandan media attention, as a result I have been contacted by my sister Florence Birungi [Sengooba’s] mother and other concerned Ugandans/Britons here in Britain about similar matters and about the regime” Mr. Semitego’s letter dated 2, December, 2011 reads in part.
He also says that he was also contacted by his nephew counsel Kibedi Evans on phone who sent him details of Sengoba’s bad situation.
” I have enclosed details provided by my nephew, counsel Kibedi”.
Semitego says he wants Britain to help him secure his nephew [Sengooba] immediate release.
In similar news, activist K Mubiru passed on after spending months in police cells.
The officer in-charge of Old Kampala Police Joram Mwesigye said him and his team were trying to quell a protest by suspected Activists 4 Change [A4C] who wanted to forcefully cause Sengooba release and others while throwing stones at police officers.
Sources say the deceased was asked by OC/Old Kampala Police Mwesigye to erase photos he had captured during the arrest of Sengooba. After refusing he was grabbed by Mwesigye Joram and his colleague Benard Mugerwa and was dragged on tarmac and his skull and spinal cord were destroyed.
