Make sure that you start filling up buckets, much of Kampala is expected to start being affected by a one-day long water cut starting in the morning hours of Thursday, September 15.
So why is the tap going to run dry? The interruption is meant to ‘facilitate the maintenance and rehabilitation’ works of National Water and Sewerage Corporation’s Gaba 2 water plant, from 8am to 8pm. This will reportedly enhance the water supply to the Kampala, Wakiso area.
The water body insists this planned shutdown will help NWSC complete final interconnection works to add 50 million litres of water per day to Kampala service area.
These are the areas that can expect water cuts:
Kampala city center, Muyenga, Jinja Road, Kyambogo, Mutungo, Mukono, Seeta, Kyambogo, Banda, Nakawa, Mutungo, Luzira, Rubaga,Bulenga,Buloba, Banda, Kansanga, Makindye, Nansana, Nsambya, parts of City Centre, Namirembe,Bwaise, Kawempe, Matugga, Najjanakumbi, Mulago, Makerere, Nakulabye, Nsambya and sorrounding areas.
