The Forum for Democratic Change’s former presidential candidate Dr Kizza Besigye has arrested at the Jinja magistrates court after trying to force his way into where Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere is being tried.

Under heavy security escort, Mumbere was on November 29 transferred from Police’s special operations base at Nalufenya to Jinja Chief Magistrate’s Court where charges of murder were read by the state.

Besigye is said to be one of his sureties was thrown into van and briefly detained at Nalufenya Police Station. He is reportedly being driven to his Kasangati home by security officers.

Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere, the Rwenzururu king, who is charged with murder, is expected to appear in court today. The Omusinga was arrested late last month during the Kasese clashes that left over 67 people dead according to official figures.
