Teen sensation Alex ‘Benzema’ Kitata added to his incredible record of debut goals for Uganda Premier League record champions SC Villa on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old was thrust into action from on familiar and duly notched the first goal of the Jogoos’ 2-1 win at home against his former side Saints in the UPL.
Amazingly it was his fourth – yes his FOURTH – debut goal since he exploded onto the scene featuring for the Saints in the Fufa Big League, Uganda’s second tier division.
Godfrey Lwesibawa who has been key to Villa’s attacking game was again involved, setting up striker Alex Kitatta who rounded goalkeeper Joseph Ssebuliba for the opener wrote Daily Monitor’s Elvis Senono.
The midfielder has now been involved in all four of Kitatta’s goals while setting up a total of seven for the 16-time league champions as Shafiq Bisaso made a solid debut as head coach.
He then got his name on the score-sheet in the second half when his cross-shot caught out Ssebuliba.
Villa could and should have added further goals with Umar Kasumba particularly guilty of fluffing a couple of opportunities.
They were then almost made to pay late on when George Ssenkaaba capitalised on an error from Villa goalkeeper Yasin Mugabi to pull a goal back.
Substitute Abdul Noor Lukwata then failed to make proper connection with a right wing cross for Villa to secure victory
The win moves Villa to 15 points four points behind leaders KCCA who drew 1-1 with Kirinya-Jinja.
