Battle for beer market in the country is set to turn a new heat as Heineken Uganda Ltd signed a new deal with the Dutch brewers of Primus Lager Beer to enter the Ugandan market.
This comes after Uganda Breweries’ Black Bell was unveiled last month.
InterConnect Technologies, the local distributor signed the deal to distribute Primus, that is brewed in 4 different countries in Central Africa. It is brewed in Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, Burundi and Rwanda.
The new Primus 5% ABV (Alcohol by Volume) lager will be retailing at a sh3500 per 500ML bottle.
The Heineken Group, a Dutch brewing conglomerate, owns Bralirwa, also known by its French name Brasseries et Limonaderies du Rwanda, is the largest brewer and soft beverage company in the Rwanda.
