GROUP E 2018 WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS

9PM, Egypt vs Uganda

Uganda Cranes coach Moses Basena has named his starting line-up for tonight’s World Cup qualifier against Egypt.

Tackling his last fixture as interim head coach, Basena maintained the starting team that edged Egypt 1-0 at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on 31st August, 2017, thanks to the dancing feet of Emmanuel Okwi.

South Africa based goalkeeper will skipper global quailifications’ best defensive national. The next step is the most important one, make sure Uganda keeps a cleansheet or is not beaten by Egypt with a two goal difference.

The back four remains unchanged with Nicholas Wadada, Geoffrey Walusimbi and Murushid Juuko and Issac Isinde getting the nod. Belgium based Faruku Miya and Okwi will provide support to youngster Derrick Nsibambi upfront as Uganda will need to wear out their counter-attack strategy and find a way to express absolute dominance at Borg El Arab Stadium.

Cranes are at the forefront of the fight for the lone slot at the global showpiece in Russia lead the four-team group with seven points, one better that the two-time World Cup finalists.

Denis Onyango (GK), Nico Wakiro Wadada, Godfrey Walusimbi, Isaac Isinde, Murushid Juuko, Wasswa Hassan Mawanda,Khalid Aucho, Emmanuel Arnold Okwi, Faruku Miya, Derrick Nsibambi,  Joseph Benson Ochaya
