Australians jet in for Kampala World X-Ctry Championships

A 29-strong Team Australia has arrived in Uganda ahead of the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Kampala on Sunday 26 March 2017.
They touched down at 1pm local time at Entebbe international Airport a day earlier.
Australia’s team is one of the largest in the 60-country event due this weekend at the Kololo Airstrip.
About 557 athletes are expected from 60 teams are set to compete, surpassing the figures from the past six editions.
Uganda’s Timothy Toroitich, who won convincingly in Alcobendas, Spain last November, will captain the host nation’s team, while Almond Blossom winner Irene Cheptai forms part of a strong Kenyan senior women’s squad.

AUSTRALIAN TEAM FOR KAMPALA:
Senior men: Liam Adams, Sam McEntee, Stewart McSweyn, Jack Rayner, Brett Robinson, Patrick Tiernan
Senior women: Bridey Delaney, Lexy Gilmour, Anna Kelly, Gemma Maini, Virginia Moloney, Emily Ryan
U20 men: Zachary Facioini, David Lean, Callum McClusky, Josh Phillips, Kieran Tall, Edward Trippas
U20 women: Georgia Evans, Courtney Hopkins, Emily Hopper, Amelia Mazza-Downie, Clio Ozanne-Jacques, Lauren Ryan
