ARMY SHAKEUP: Fired Gen. Katumba Wamala painfully decorates successor Gen. Muhoozi

Following last week’s UPDF shakeup by the Commander in Chief Gen. Museveni that left many high ranking officers dumbfounded , the newly promoted army officers were today officially decorated into their various ranks.

Major General Nalweyiso Proscovia being decorated to become the most high ranking woman in the army.
The promoted army officers were decorated at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Bombo, Kampala and the Defence Minister Adolf Mwesige was chief guest at the handover ceremony.

Among those decorated include new Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General David Muhoozi, who was promoted last week to take over from General Katumba Wamala. General Wamala, who is the new head of the Ministry ofWorks as Minister of State, decorated his successor.

Other officers decorated include new deputy CDF, Lieutenant General Wilson Mbadi, and new Land Forces commander Major General Peter Elwelu, Maj Gen Otema Awany, the newy appointed Reserve Forces commander, Major General Joseph Musanyufu, the new Joint Chief of Staff and Major Gen. Proscovia Nalweyiso who becomes the first female two-star General in East Africa.
