Alebtong and Otuke get bigger courts of law

With the ever rising rate of crime in Northern Uganda, government has moved to bring justice closer to the people.

The Minister of Justice, Maj Gen Kahinda Otafiire through t new magistrate’s courts have been created in a statutory instrument 2017, has this week announced the creation of Alebtong and Otuke magistrate’s courts among others, growing the number from 38 to 82.

The two young districts have been using Lira magistrate Court.

Maj Gen Otafiire said in a statement, “In exercise of the powers conferred upon the minister by Section 2 and 3 of the Magistrates Court Act and in consultation with the Chief Justice, this Instrument is made on the 13th day of September 2016.”

Nateete, Ndeeba, Ggaba, Namuwongo, Kabalagala, Zaana, Kasubi, and Rubaga all in the capital Kampala also got elevated.
