Uganda’s second biggest University, Kyambogo has for the 2017/2018 academic year admitted a total of 14,063 students for its degree and diploma courses under private sponsorship scheme.
Of this, 12,651 students are going to study degree courses and the remaining 1,412 on diploma programmes.
The highest number of students admitted at the University with a total of 1,966 are going to study the bachelors of science (accounting and finance). 1,240 of these are on day programme while 726 are on the evening one. Its diploma level garnered the highest number of students as well with 150 going for evening.
The Accounting course is followed by bachelor of business administration and Bachelor of Arts in education on both evening and day programs.
Bachelor of Science (sports and leisure management) has only one student.
The academic registrar of the university Dr Peter Okello says that Students can pick up their admission letters from the respective faculties as early as next week.
