The Inspector General of Police says the force will engage Kampala Capital City Authority KCCA, to implement President Museveni’s directive on the registration of all boda bodas.

Yesterday, President Museveni announced a new host of security measures to be taken by government including the introduction of numbered helmets for boda boda riders for easy identification.

The Inspector General of Police says the force will engage Kampala Capital City Authority KCCA,

Museveni said the helmets’ numbers should be shinning so that they can even be seen at night.

President Museveni was speaking at the burial of slain Arua Municipality MP, Col Ibrahim Abiriga in Arua District.

Speaking at a joint televised security discussion by security chiefs IGP Martin Okoth Ochola said the police would as soon as possible engage KCCA to implement these measures.

Meanwhile the IGP said there have been some discrepancies on who was supposed to take charge of the boda boda industry, but now that things are clear, they’re going to work on this.

He also assured the country that the security forces are still in control of the country’s security, despite acknowledging that there were some issues of insecurity like the recent spike in kidnaps and murders that the security agencies are working overtime to address them.
