A Uganda national who was early this month abducted while attending to his gardens in across the border in the Democratic Republic of Congo has been released and allowed to return but with serious body injuries.
Kyariisima Yoanasani in his mid 40s has been under the unknown militia custody in Congo who continuously demanded for Shs20 million ransom before releasing him.
The kidnappers have been using Kyarisima phone to contact his relatives demanding for the money.
However, his younger brother Dabtience Tumusiime told TheUgandan that they managed to raise ah 4.2 which they sent to the kidnappers and was released last night.
Tumusiime said that his brother was tortured while in captivity and he bore injuries on his buttocks which necessitate surgery.
He revealed that Kyarisiima is currently being admitted at Kihiihi Health Center IV where medics have guaranteed to carry out an operation.
No statement had been issued by the security authorities ever since Kyarisima was abducted despite numerous reminders and media reports.
