Police recently have unveiled several sidecars to be used in police operations in Kampala.
The police say they will have been deployed in different parts of Kampala and its outskirts, including six along the Northern bypass, Kabalagala, Muyenga, Jinja Road, Entebbe road, Kajjansi, Kawuku, and Nakawain operations against armed robbers and terrorists..
Sources within the police say the side cars were imported from Italy.
Last year, Italy’s Police chief, Gen Del Sette signed a Memorandum of Understanding with General Kale Kayihura on security collaborations including three specialised helicopters to assist in police operations.
Sidecars were popular in Europe in the 1930s.
