Police is Kasese district has arrested and detained a renowned Pentecostal pastor for having sexual relations with his neighbor’s wife.
According to Police, James Mwesigwa, an evangelist is said to have turned it into a habit to sleep with other people’s wives and young girls.
Officers at Kasese Central Police Station on Tuesday told reporters that it was not the first time the suspect was being arrested in connection to similar offences.
This time, the man of God is said to have been sleeping with Hajji Sserumaga Kaganda’s wife who reported the pastor to police.
Meanwhile, Mr Sserumaga treated bystanders at CPS to free drama when he slapped his 60-year-old wife, accusing her of having “too much appetite for sex”.
Kaganda told police that he has, on several occasions caught her wife with several men in Kasese town.
He hocked the police when he revealed that one time, he found her aging wife having sex with a strange man in a car with tinted glasses.
Kaganda also told police that he had read text messages between the pastor and his wife referring to each other with endearment words such as sweetheart.
The pastor however denied the accusations, saying that he has only known Kaganda’s wife “strictly on business matters”.
Police promised to investigate the matter to its logical conclusion, including getting telephone printouts of Pastor Mwesigwa and Mrs Sserumaga.
According to police, the pastor is likely to be charged with abating domestic violence.
