City lawyer Fred Muwema is the latest Ugandan to boost preparations for Uganda Cranes’ Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
The sown opponent of local football governing body Fufa head, Eng. Moses Magogo yesterday handed over his Shs10m contribution to the Eco Bank’s managing director Clement Dodoo under the “Cranes Nalo Na Kaja” promotion. The renowned lawyer made the contibution at the bank’s headquarters in Kampala flanked with his firm’s associate Ms. Damalie Tibugwisa.
Muwema a former SC Villa chairman said; “The team belongs to us all. We decided to put aside our differences and bring our small contribution.”
Muwema added: “Being away from something (Ugandan football) doesn’t mean you are out of it but you thinking hard about the issue. So have been around and this is something to show that this (Uganda Cranes) is our team and we have to put our differences behind and make Ugandans happy. Every team in the AFCON finals has issues at home so let us as stakeholders first finish this historical tournament and later clean up the mess in our beloved football.”
Eco bank is seeking to raise Shs6bn in a promotion that will also see 50 fans will all-expenses paid trip to the Gabon for Uganda’s group stage games.
Celebrated music icon Bobi Wine also donated Shs 5million to the cause.
