A judge in Jinja has decided that Rwenzururu King Charles Wesley Mumbere spends Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the following three days in jail.
The monarch, who is charged with murder and he on Monday morning appeared before Jinja Chief Magistrate, John Francis Kaggwa who further remanded him to Nalufenya until December 28, 2016.
Donning a black suit and a white shirt, Mumbere arrived in court at 9:30 am under tight security. A motorcade of five trucks led him to the court.
The latest development means the embattled king will not join his family and subjects for the joyful festive season, a quiet and reflective holiday enjoyed allover Ugandan.

It is alleged that on March 24 this year, Charles Wesley Mumbere and others still at large, at FFU Detach in Kidodo cell Central Division, Kasese Municipality, Kasese District murdered Geoffrey Kasimba.
The Omusinga was arrested late last month during the Kasese clashes that left over 67 people dead according to official figures.
