As tension continues to rise in Kasese over what next after King Mumbere was remanded to Luzira, opposition has put government to the task of accounting for what is transpiring in the district.
Accordingly, opposition feels government is hiding the number of the dead civilians and refusing to release some information that the citizenry would love to understand.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, Winnie Kiiza the leader of opposition and also Kasese woman member of parliament demanded that government puts into account all that has transpired in her district ever since fighting broke out.
“We are demanding the government for accountability. We would like to know how many people they killed. We know there were kids staying at the Palace, where are they? Were they killed or rescued?” Kiiza asked.
She added, “We have learnt of a plan to have mass graves, some of the dead bodies are already decomposed. Some are in Buhinga hospital, others in Kasese Municipal health center and Lubirizi.”
The flamboyant female legislator demanded to know the whereabouts of the naked women and men that were arrested from Kasese.
She said there is need for all the victims to be given a fair hearing and get representation as they battle various “cooked up cases” from government.
“We want them to access their lawyers and relatives. Museveni should stop taking everyone for a ride.”
She called upon members of the general public to join her call for justice for King Mumbere and his subjects and the entire country.
Her call comes as the Rwenzururu King, Charles Densely Mumbere spends his second day in Luzira prison after being remanded by Jinja Chief Magistrate, John Francis Kaggwa until the 13th of December over allegations of murdering a police officer.
