Drama unfolded at Rwenzori East Police headquarters in Kasese district when Rwenzururu King Charles Wensley Mumbere’s mother Ms Christine Nyamukama Mukiranya on Wednesday met with senior police officers to seek permission to manage the king’s estates.
Kasese Municipality Mayor Godfrey Kabbyanga who was by Ms Mukiranya’s side said “There were some goats and cows that were roaming in the palace. We had gone to seek permission from the police to hand them over to the Nyamukama and police have already done that.”
Police has however declined to disclose what Kaweesi discussed with the mother of the King referring to it as an informal and courtesy meeting from the elderly mother.
Unlike Mumbere’s wife, his mother cares about the animals as well.
