Former vice president Dr Specioza Wandira Kazibwe has called upon the youth to actively engage in agriculture and support government programs meant to create jobs with in the country.
Kazibwe said that whereas government is trying all it can to end unemployment especially among the youths, most of them don’t want to work and some want white collar jobs which are not available.
She was speaking on Monday while receiving her brand new Land cruiser that government gave her as her entitlement according to the Past Leaders’ Act.
She as well proposed that the retirement age should be lowered from 65 to 45 to enable civil servants have more time to focus on building their investments and pave way for the younger generation to take over the mantle of leadership.
Her comments come at a time when Western Youth MP Hon Mwine Mpaka and Bunya East MP Hon Kyewalabye Majegere are working on drafting the National Graduate Service Bill 2016 which if passes into law makes it mandatory for every adult Ugandan of 18 years and above to offer compulsory one-year national service.
