Nkumba University coach Patrick Sebuliba has left Namboole Stadium a dejected man after his side fell to rivals Kampala University 2-3 in the Nile Special University Football League finale on Saturday.
A Martin Sseruwagi penalty in the 27th minute was immediately cancelled by KU skipper Nicholas Kabonge’s free-kick to level matters just before the half hour mark before Alex Wasswa recovered Nkumba’s lead 120 seconds after renewal of the second stanza.
Kabonge completed his match-winning double in the 89th minute and Walusimbi Abdul the third and final goal for KU coach Vincent ‘Titi’ Tumusiime to clinch the title that they last won in 2013.
Last season KU were knocked out in the group stages and Makerere University Busniess School (MUBS) have been the defending champions.
