Lule, who returns to the side he coached between 2008-09
New Express Football Club head coach Matia Lule says he is already settling in to life at Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku thanks to a little bit of help and advice from Uganda head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic.
Lule was officially unveiled at a media presentation on Sunday at Kibinge House by club chairperson Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi on a three year term and starts work with immediate effect replacing Wasswa Bossa who has been at Express since 2012 but got fired on Tuesday.

But when Lule asked the Serbian tactician for a few words of advice about high pressure football managemenr, he discovered the 47-year-old was even more prophetic than he realised.
Asked what Micho told him prior to his unveiling, Lule revealed: ‘[He told me to] be steady and focused on being a good coach and not be on pressure because results are got through hard work. It is great advice.
Express FC’s also revealed on their social media platforms that Micho’s advice to Lule was; ‘Express is a big Club he needs magic stick to deliver cos club needs results’.
Micho whose first job in Africa was at Ugandan league giants SC Villa (2001-2004) guided the guided the club to 3 consecutive league titles on top of being crowned the Uganda Cup (Kakungulu winners) once. He also clinched the CECAFA Club for the Jogoos after 17 years wait for the championships.
Lule, who returns to the side he coached between 2008-09 was delighted with the appointment and promised towards making the Red eagles a better side.
“For starters, it’s great to be back home,” he said at his unveiling. “I have supported Express my whole life and it’s great to return here in the capacity of not only a coach but a manager as well,” he added.
Lule finds the six-time champions stuck in 7th on the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) log with 15 points after 12 games with the side winless in six consecutive games.
His first assignment comes on December 3 when at home against Sadolin Paints.
