Besigye was on Monday arrested and forced into a waiting police van and driven away
Former FDC presidential candidate Dr Kizza Besigye is back to his home in Kasangati Wakiso District after Police arrested him on Monday.
The fourtime challenger of President Museveni via social media that he had been released without charges from Nagalama Police Station in Mukono.
“Violently arrested from “home” & now just forcefully returned from Naggalama cells to Kasangati “Prison” (former home),” Besigye tweeted.
“One of my favourite shirts ripped by police goons as they violently arrested me. No charges and no document given. So, I hold onto acknowledgement of prisoner property,” he added.

The arrest came after Opposition leaders including City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago paid him a visit at his home following his return from the US where he had been for about two weeks.
Shortly before Besigye’s arrest, a scuffle ensued between him and police officers who had blocked the road that leads to his home.
Besigye got out of his house, asked the police to remove their barricades but when they seemed adamant, the visibly angry Besigye engaged them physically.
