Four suspects were arrested on Friday from Kyebando and Kawempe Division when the Police Flying Squad invaded their hide-out.
Emilian Kayima, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson noted that the four men make up the crew that kidnapped Nicole Mitala, the 6-year-old girl who went missing on last Tuesday from Green Hill Academy, Buwaate Campus before she was found abandoned along Jinja Road in Kampala days later.
“It has not been easy getting them because they kept on switching off their phones,” said Afande Kayima.
Last week, a woman believed to head the gang was arrested from the city centre as she was taking the child to Ntinda upon receiving the Shs4 million ransom.
He said police monitored the suspects’ movements after phone calls they made to the little girl’s parents asking for a ransom.
Police refused to disclose the names of the suspects in order not to jeopardize investigations, added that the gang could also involved in guileless robbery according to intelligence.
