Ex-coordinator of military intelligence Gen David Sejusa was in bad mood before General court Martial Makindye.
Since his arrest on Sunday he says he is not comfortable in the place where he is alleged locked up in cell no.6, a dungeon containment that also housed Activists 4 Change (A4C) honcho Robert Sengooba in 2011.
He protested that he’s been on remand since his arrest on Sunday the Chairman Court Martial read him charges ranging from money laundering.
The regime is probing Pearl Forex bureau for wiring $8Mn to UK but Sejusa defended himself saying it was their upkeep to pay for their apartments, basic needs and to pay for their stay permits.
Sejusa refused to take plea “my lord, I can’t take plea because am not army officer anymore,” therefore I can’t be charged under UPDF Act 2005.
State prosecution accuses Sejusa of obstruction of justice when he stood surety for his sister’s son Sengooba’s bail and also helped him to escape in December, 2011.
Sejusa pleaded that its unfair for General court Martial to further order him produce also Dr. Kiyingi Aggrey and Hon Kipoi Tonny he would stood surety as well.
Government added that Gen Sejusa was mobilising and recruiting youths, Police and Army deserters to back up Sengooba, Semitego the former army man’s political activism in the districts of Kampala, Wakiso, Mukono and others parts of Uganda with financial back up – actions that forced the regime to ban Activists for change (A4C) through Attorney General’s statutory instruments order C23 of 2014.
According to prosecutors Sejusa without UPDF leadership’s approval, appeared on radio political show (mambo-bado) & made it public that youths should join them (Sejusa & Sengooba) to overthrow the regime.
Regime, insists that Sejusa had also turned President’s critic like his sister’s son Sengooba fled to exile.
Sejusa is linked to Sengooba’s Activists 4 Change (A4C) a pressure group allegedly founded by Sengooba plotting massive uprisings anytime according to Sengooba’s Facebook post in July, 2011 and therefore Sejusa is probed for planned subversive acts.
A year after Sengooba’s escape, Sejusa,had fled Uganda to exile to join his sisters Florence Birungi and Amoti Birungi based in United Kingdom but with help of Ugandan envoy in UK sent by president Sejusa was convinced to return home and with President’s phone calls. The president had promised that they’ll sat sort out their political differences together with other members of Late,Bakayana’s family but Sejusa’s arrival back 2 days after he’s arrested from his home after a closed door meeting with President at State House, Entebbe.
