Fear continues to grip opposition members in Uganda with reports of disappearances since the emergence of new political sensation, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.
Bobi, the Kyadondo East lawmaker has since declared his intentions to contest the 2021 presidential elections against President Yoweri Museveni.
The MP who heads the People Power movement and hopes to unseat Museveni who has been in power since 1986, However, the road has not been easy for him.
Last year, he was brutally arrested and accused the military of torturing him, following the Arua district by-elections that Saw Kasiano Wadri win the poll.
Bobi claims his supporters have been targets of persecution by the state with rumors of some of them either being intimidated into abandoning Bobi or going ‘AWOL’ for fear of arrests.
There are reports of youthful mobilisers including a one Natasha Nakinda who have gone off the radar. Her whereabouts can’t be traced since last month which has left her family panicking in search for her.
It should be noted that Bobi has since failed to organise a concert as the police has blocked most of them claiming he does not meet the requirements to hold concerts.
In April he was arrested after he was charged over his role in a street protest last year against a tax on social media.
