President Yoweri Museveni retained majority of his cabinet dropping a handful and doing the same while moving others.
The cabinet announced on Saturday saw former opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party strong woman, Beatrice Anywar make it to cabinet as Minister of State for the environment.
Anywar shot to national fame during the infamous Mabira demonstrations to protest the giveaway of Mabira Forest to an investor.
Rafael Magyezi, the proponent of the Age Limit Bill that cleared the way for Museveni to contest in the 2021 presidential elections has also been rewarded with the Ministry of local government.
In 2017, Magyezi tabled a bill to remove the 75 age cap on presidential hopefuls. The bill passed amidst controversy and paved the way for Museveni to rule for life.
Energy Minister Irene Muloni has been dropped to Presidential Adviser while ICT Minister Frank Tumwebaze moves to the ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development.
Also dropped is Idah Nantaba, the ICT State Minister, while former army commander, Gen Katumba Wamala has been promoted to full Works minister.
