President Yoweri Museveni has commended the good and strong relationship that exists between France and Uganda adding that the 2 countries can still do a lot more in terms of development.

“Since we came to Government in 1986, Uganda has been having good relationship with France,” he said.

The President was speaking during a meeting on Wednesday with the new French Ambassador to Uganda, Mr. Jules Armand Aniambossou, at State House, Entebbe. State Minister for Investments, Hon. Evelyn Anite, among others, attended the meeting.

Mr. Museveni urged the French Government to contribute more in the fight against terrorism adding that France and Uganda should cooperate in the development of space capacity so that Uganda is enabled to provide surveillance mechanisms around the country’s lakes for purposes of efficiency in the fishing sector.

Others sectors of development that the President and the envoy discussed included water transport, energy and education.

The French Envoy, on his part, reaffirmed the commitment of the French government to strengthen further the cooperation between the 2 countries especially in the economic sector.

He commended President Museveni for his commitment to the sector of investments in Uganda adding that it is very important for Uganda to work for the growth and expansion of the business opportunities in collaboration other key players.
