Uganda’s revamped national carrier, Uganda Airlines will commence flights to neighboring Rwanda in December 2019, according to information from the carrier.
This development was revealed on Friday morning by the commercial director saying that there will also be flights to South Africa and Zambia with the acquisition of two more aircraft in next month.
“Come mid October, we will receive two more Aircraft and our route map will expand. We shall be flying 3 times a day from Monday to Friday and twice a day every Saturday and Sunday. We shall fly to Lusaka, Johannesburg, Zanzibar and Kigali coming online,” Commercial Director, Jennifer Bamuturaki revealed.
She added, “This will expand our routes and increase our flights to Nairobi 3 times a day.”
When Uganda Airlines commenced commercial flights in August, neighbouring Kigali conspicuously missed on the flight routes raising eyebrows that the cold war between the two countries could have hampered the inclusion of Kigali.
However, Bamuturaki said there was nothing political about the previous omission.
“Those who really wanted the Kigali route and thought there was political turmoil stopping it, you’re now sorted,” she said.
