The Chinese council responsible for the promotion of International trade in collaboration with China African Development Fund together with Uganda Investment Authority and Uganda National Chamber of Commerce are to hold the first Ever China-Uganda Industrial Capacity Cooperation Exposition at the UMA show grounds in Lugogo, reports Innocent Kayiza.
During the Beijing Summit held with heads of State last year, the Chinese president Xi Jiping announced that his country will launch Eight major initiatives together with Africa to draw a blueprint for the development of China- Africa relations in the new era, and open a grand chapter in their cooperation. The expositions are one of the initiatives to further promote the implementation of the news agreed on during the summit in Beijing.
The 2019 Uganda- China Expo has already attracted 43 Chinese enterprises who will come seeking to explore investment opportunities in Uganda in a range of industries including engineering Machinery, energy equipment, agricultural processing product and equipment, automobiles etc. This was revealed during the preparatory presser at Serana hotel Kampala. The Expos will act as a platform for governments, businesses and trade circles between Africa and China to work hand in hand, promote trade and investment for mutual benefits. The forum is expected to provide opportunity to showcase Many products and economic development concepts including a symposium and other concurrent events designed to enhance networking and information exchange between the two States as well as promote industrial capacity cooperation on projects.
Since the Establishment of diplomatic relations between Uganda and China back in October 1962, the economic and trade relations between the two States have made great progress and development. Presently bilateral economic and trade are not limited to simple trade relations only but go to wide range of development projects.
