Luwero District is bordered by Nakasongola District to the north, Kayunga District to the east, Mukono District to the southeast, Wakiso District to the south, and Nakaseke District to the west. Luwero District a bubbling trade and agriculture driven District that hosts Bugema University, Ndejje University, Kampala University, Bamunanika Palace (one of the palaces of the Kabaka of Buganda).

It is also the headquarters of the Uganda Land Forces, a unit of the Uganda People’s Defence Force and Bombo Military Hospital, one of the two military hospitals in Uganda (the other being Mbuya Military Hospital).

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting to commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to Muhammad according to Islamic belief. Muslims are expected to put more effort into following the teachings of Islam with the fast beginning at dawn and ending at sunset.
