Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, who returned on Thursday says he the right to move freely in the country.

He spoke atop a vehicle to the huge crowd of his supporters who were not allowed to meet him at the airport.

Addressing supporters at his home in Magere, Wakiso district, Hon. Kyagulanyi said: “I am a free Ugandan with the right to move freely in my country. The Police has no business telling me who receives me and who cannot or where I go and where I cannot.”

Kyagulanyi, whose supporters and a section of opposition politicians had planned to receive, could not meet them because the Police had warned the politicians and the public not to hold any meeting or procession.

According to the Police spokesperson Emilian Kayima, Kyagulanyi co-operated with the Police and was escorted to his home.

Kyagulanyi, went to the US at the beginning of the month to seek medical treatment after he alleged he was tortured after spending several weeks in custody.

He has been charged with treason following campaign violence during a by-election in August.

He denies the charge.
