Pius Epaju, the Chief Administrative Officer Amolatar district has been sent on forced leave.

Epaju’s forced leave was sanctioned by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of local government, Ben Kumumanya. This follows a petition from the local leaders protesting alleged embezzlement of over 1.5 billion shillings.

Three weeks ago, local leaders petitioned President Yoweri Museveni to intervene in the alleged embezzlement of the funds.

The petitioners include 13 LC V Councillors, five LC III Chairpersons, the Kyoga County Member of Parliament, Anthony Okello and Woman MP, Doreen Amule.

Geoffrey Ocen, the lead petitioner also the former Amolatar LC V Vice Chairperson is excited about Epaju’s forced leave saying he should still be investigated.

Ocen says Epaju’s forced leave only answers part of their concerns urging that the embezzled funds should be recovered.
