Joyful school children at Kauthara Islamic School in Wakiso district sang praise for Qatar Airways Uganda staff for having aided their education.
The pupils received desks for their classrooms, supporting the learning of approximately 400 scholars.
The event saw pupils, their families, teachers and guests come together for a morning, which included speeches by the Chairman of the Board of Governors, Mr. Abdallah Ssenjala; the Commissioner for Private Schools, Mutekanga George, Member of Parliament Makindye East, Hon. Sempala Kigozi and Sheikh Ali Shuyu (Sheikh of Masjid Jamia)
The desk handover between Qatar Airways Uganda Commercial Manager, Mr. Haileab Netsereab Mehreteab and the Kauthara Islamic School Head Teacher Mr. Bashir Ssaazi.
Kauthara School Headmaster, Mr. Ssaazi, said: “We would like to thank Qatar Airways for making a difference in the school’s endeavor to give a worthwhile education to children in the community. The quality furniture provided by Qatar Airways will enhance the studying environment of the pupils and make their learning more comfortable. We will also be able to enroll more pupils in the school thus contributing to the development of our nation.”
Qatar Airways operates one daily flight to Entebbe International Airport.
