Uganda is yet to be severely affected by floods from heavy rains across many districts.

Unlike neighboring Kenya and Tanzania, Uganda is yet to register severe effects of the floods.

The floods in Southern Kenya have been subject of discussion in the region.

Unconfirmed reports indicated that one hundred people were feared dead in flood-related disasters in Kenya with thousands displaced in a number of counties.

The latest Famine and Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) report says rainfall has been above average throughout Uganda. It says although incidences of flooding and water logging have been reported, so far these events are isolated and have not had widespread negative impacts.

It says in southern Uganda and Karamoja, heavy rainfall has disrupted some agricultural activities, and incidences of flooding and water logging have been reported in Rubanda, Butaleja, Napak, Kyegegwa and Mbarara.

But these have not had widespread negative impacts.
