Security authorities have cited progress in a terror investigation after Wednesday’s incident e in Apac District where Police arrested a woman identified as Flavia Akech who was in possession of 17 grenades- explosive bombs, 13 SMG gun magazines, 2 pistols and 493 rounds.
The items were found in a Toyota Noah UAP 771K driven by Vincent Otema but Akech evaded the check point on a boda boda. Police publicist for Aswa Region ASP Jimmy Patrick Okema confirmed the incident when contacted by this website, “yes it is true we arrested her,” he said.
The key suspect, Akech who is a resident of Makerere, Kawempe Division in Kampala has been working in Juba, South Sudan for sometime as a casual worker according to preliminary information gathered by TheUgandan.
There are other two suspects that were aiding these three who were also apprehended and these are Nadome Ronald 32 years and Muzamiru Fiza 18 years.
All the five suspects after being briefly detained at Elegu police station under case file number SRB 09/2018 have been transported to Kampala for interrogation.
