In a continuous effort to support health and nutrition activities in Uganda, Fresh Dairy has donated several items to the Paediatric Ward of the Uganda Cancer Institute to include three wheel chairs, 50 litres of milk and 250 kilograms of maize flour.
Uganda Cancer Institute (UCI) offers specialized services in areas of cancer treatment, research and prevention. According to the Ministry of Health in Uganda, Cancer is the most common Non Communicable Disease in Uganda, with an annual load of more than 60,000 new cases in Uganda alone. Although cancer is a serious health problem, it can be prevented and controlled if detected early.
Speaking during the handover ceremony held at Fresh Dairy offices in Kampala, Finance and Administration General Manager Benson Mwangi said, ‘One of our key priority areas at Fresh Dairy is Health and Nutrition.”
Mwangi added that to this end, Fresh Dairy has donated wheel chairs to ease on cancer patient movement, maize flour and milk products to better the health and nutrition of patients.
The milk giants will continue to support health and nutrition causes across the country.
