Tension heated up on Tuesday in Parliament after chaos erupted before being adjourned unceremoniously on Day two of the age limit debate.
Amuru District Woman MP Lucy Akello (FDC) said she has found soldiers occupying both the Catholic/Anglican Chaplaincy prayer places in Parliament before there was a near fist fight in between Hon. Odongo Otto and Silwanye Solomony, the spokesperson of the NRM caucus after the latter’s defense against Hon. Akello Lucy’s claim.
NRM MPs said the soldiers were praying but Speaker Rebecca Kadaga has suspended plenary until 2pm as she investigates the MPs’ claims.
“I saw them, they were in thousands,” Hon. Akello insisted. “I saw about 300 soldiers at the chaplaincy. Those who were in plain clothes were about 50 and those in uniform were about 300. Truth has started coming out but we are not moved.”
