The Minister for Kampala Hon Betty Kamya Turyomwe has today flagged off 230 Kampala capital city authority councilors to the National Leadership Institute at Kyankwanzi.
Councilors who have gone are from the five urban councils of Kampala Central, Makindye, Lubaga, Nakawa and Kawempe.
Speaking to media shortly after the flag off, Minister Betty Kamya dismissed claims that this is a plot by government to draft the councilors into supporting the proposal to remove the presidential age limit from the Constitution.
According to Betty, parliamentarians are the ones responsible for passing laws not councilors.
