The International Crimes Division of the High Court has this afternoon heard an application aimed at arresting Sudan President, Omar Al- Bashir, if he ever sets foot on Ugandan soil again.
The application was filed yesterday by Uganda victims Foundation, a civil society organisation.
Justice Moses Mukiibi hear dthe application at 2:30pm.
The respondents are Attorney General and Justice Minister, Kahinda Otafiire.
The application comes on the heels of President Bashir’s state visit to Uganda.
The civil society wants court to issue a standing warrant of arrest against President Bashir, if he returns to Uganda, since the Sudan leader is wanted by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity, and crimes of genocide in Darfur.
