Police in Rakai district has arrested eleven people in connection with the murder of over twenty women in the areas of Entebbe and Nansana.
Inspector General of Police General Kale Kayihura who was at Rakai Central Police Station on Wednesday for screening of the suspects, said Police along with other security operatives have been in operation in Rakai district for the past month.
He however declined to reveal the names of the suspects saying investigations were still ongoing.
So far, 17 suspects have been charged in court over the serial murders.
Their arrest followed the murder of over 23 women in Nansana and Entebbe between May and September.
Kayihura said the killings show a pattern and they are inspired by businessmen looking for blood for ritual sacrifices.
To prevent sex workers from being targeted, Gen Kayihura in September held a meeting with some of them and established spy networks to enable security track the killers.
