Top athlete Stephen Kiprotich is such an unfortunate man.
Mzee Kiboi Kiptui, his father 93, breathed his last in November 2015 while he was still mourning his Liz Chelangat who died on January 2. His camp has now been hit by the passing away of his Godfrey Nuwagaba who died on an Emirates Airlines flight on Monday.
Nuwagaba, who served as the treasurer of the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) was also treasurer of the Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF).
“This is very sad news for the sports fraternity in Uganda,” Mr William Blick, the UOC President.
Dominic Otuchet, the President of the Athletics Federation disclosed that Mr. Nuwagaba was flying together with his wife and one of the children before he reportedly developed complications while on board. The plane made an emergency landing in Addis Ababa but Nuwagaba was already dead.
He had never complained of any health challenges.
