An Iraq-trained gang posing with guns has vowed to assassinate the Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga and NRM MPs supporting the controversial Constitutional Amendment Bill to remove the Presidential Age Limit.
Uganda’s constitution (in Chapter 7, Section 102a) bars anyone older than 75 from running for president. Should the bill fail, incumbent President Yoweri Museveni is ineligible to run for reelection in 2021. Museveni is 73 and has ruled Uganda since 1986.
Now the masked youth seeming Ugandan in military fatigue with guns reel off their threats in viral video on social media especially Whatsapp and Facebook.
In the video, three unidentified masked young men, holding guns in Iraqi military attire speaking in Luganda (predominant language of Uganda) warn President Museveni not to dare touch Article 102(b) or else he will face the worst.
The youth who claim to have been forced abroad in search of green pastures having been rendered jobless by the Museveni regime voiced these threats;
“Old man with a hat, we are Ugandans in the Diaspora. The reason as to why we have captured this video is to strong warn you not to dare touch the constitution.
“We have been patient with through the years and even now it seems you want to go on. This goes to Hon. Simeo Nsubuga; stand warned, we shall burn you individually! Remember we know where you sleep – there in Makindye.
“Abiriga! You also stand warned. But most we are coming for Speaker Kadaga who without shame allowed the motion to be tabled. We also ask Ugandans not to vote back MPs who are pushing for the amendment.
“You dare touch the constitution that’s when you will know that power belongs to the people.
NOTE: Unfortunately broadcasting the video would be a breach of minimum broadcasting standards as laid down in Section 31 of the Uganda Communications Act 2013.
