Uganda joined the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) in 2011 and a few years back received a grant of $100 million about sh360b to improve school outcomes for the period between 2014 and 2018.
Education minister Janet Museveni used her recent foreign as the First Lady who had accompanied President Yoweri Museveni to the UN General Assembly to secure the grant.
Her office said Mrs. Museveni held a meeting with the Chairperson Board of Directors of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), Julian Gillard.
“We talked about the $100 million Global Partnership for Education Grant for Uganda and the possible opportunity to trigger another partnership,” she said.
Uganda is just one of the 61 countries the GPE is supporting.
