Some of Africa’s brightest golf prospects are in Kampala to fly the flags for their nations in the prestigious Tusker Malt Uganda Golf Open amateur stroke play championship that started today.
With the defending champion, Ronald Otile and last year’s top players such as;Adolf Muhumuza, Basabose John, Kenya’s Muchangi Paul,Nandwa Alfred and Mudanyi Edwin, Rwanda’s Nsabimana Alloys, already confirming participation, the Tusker Malt Uganda Golf Open will be an electrifying one.
Some notable players from Uganda to look out for will include; Daniel Baguma, Ronald Rugumayo, Becca Mwanja, Adolf Muhumuza, Richard Baguma and Titus Okwong who returns to the country from the US to make his mark on the Tusker Malt Uganda Open.
The tournament will be played over a period of four days runs the 13th -16th September at the Kitante Golf Course.
Already, countries have confirmed participation with players coming from Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi, Ethiopia, among others.
Some foreign players to look out for will be Binyam Gebreselasi from Ethiopia and Mudanyi Edwin who return to Uganda with one sole purpose – to be the 2017 champion.
Speaking to the defending champion, Ronald Otile, he said; “This is my chance to play even better golf. I have improved my game a lot since I last played here.”
The Tusker Malt Uganda Open is in its 7th year and their with the Uganda Golf Union, is ever growing stronger.
