Muslims ‘besiege Court’ for Tablique leader Kamoga’s murder judgement

The International Crimes Division of the High Court is set to deliver judgement today (2pm) in a case where 14 men were indicted for the murder of two Muslim clerics.

The accused including the leader of the Tabliq Muslim sect in the country sheikh Muhammad Yunus Kamoga, his brother sheikh Multabh Bukenya among others have been on trial since last year for the murder of fellow sheikhs; Mustafa Bahiga and Hassan Kirya between December 2014 and June 2015 at Bwebajja and Bweyogere respectively.

They also face two other counts of terrorism and attempting to murder sheikh Haruna Jjemba, and threatening to injure the Buganda Prince Kassim Nakibinge and Sheikh Muhamood Kibaate.

Three justices; Ezekiel Muhanguzi, Percy Tuhaise and Jane Kiggudu conducted this trial where 36 prosecution witnesses testified.
