The athletes that will represent Uganda at this year’s edition of the Brookside Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Associations (FEASSSA) games, will be flagged Wednesday at National Council for Sports headquarters, Lugogo.
The 16th edition of the games commences Thursday August 17th, and will end on August, 27 at the hosting St Joseph’s College Layibi and Sacred Heart SS Gulu.
Hosts Uganda will field 1080 athletes, the biggest number ever fielded by Uganda at the 16 year old completion, with rivals Kenya also expected to field more than 1000 athletes.
Teams from Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi, S. Sudan and hosts Uganda will compete in football, Athletics, Netball, Volleyball, Handball, Rugby, Swimming and Racket games.
Kenya are the overall defending champions after winning last year’s edition which they hosted in Eldoret.
