Refugees of over 11 nationalities proved they know how to throw a party as they took part in a fun run in spectacular style in the annual World Refugee Day in Nakivale Refugee Settlement in Uganda.
Lebanese-owned telecom Africell Uganda as part of their corporate social responsibility, joined the hundreds of refugees in the Nakivale Refugee Camp in a run to commemorate the day.
The run brought together refugees, Olympians, Africell staff, ARC staff, supporters, and lovers of humanity from all over the world; all united for one purpose – raising money for youth activities in the Camp.
Speaking about the participation in the run, Africell’s Commercial Director Milad Khairallah says this isn’t the first time Africell is partnering with ARC to aid refugees.
Milad said, “We are honored to be part of this year’s refugee day celebrations. Africell believes in helping communities in distress or those who are underprivileged. Refugees are part of humanity and helping with such a cause is part of our vision to give back to communities where we do business. Our participation today is just a small boost to the Nakivale refugee community.”
