A high-end shopping mall is under construction at the former Shimoni Demonstration School space. The Kampala Dubai Mall, as it will be known, will completely change the skyline of the city.
We know Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia’s Crane Management Services has in the last decade put up a series of landmark buildings and multi-billion-shilling towers across Kampala as more cranes and scaffolding creep slowly upwards on other strategic sites.
Until recently intended to be the Kingdom Kampala development project, CMS says the decision to set up the new structure has been caused by rising demand for quality office space, malls and colleges.
Now progress is there for us all to see, as brick-by-brick one of the largest construction schemes in the history of Uganda begins to take shape. The property is being developed by a group of investors from Ruparelia Group of Companies with partnership from Abland Africa, Mara and Retail Africa using prominent South African based architectural firm Boogertman + Partners Architects.
When completed, the project will have a 16,500 Square meters (Sqm) letable office tower, 30,000sqm residential apartments and 2,400 parking bays between three main roads, Nile Avenue, Yusuf Lule Road and Dewinton Road to the north east of Central Business District.
It will house new art of Gyms, playing coats for basketball, lawn tennis, skating, darts, casinos and kids entertaining centers.
